When I started Mountain Mama Design, I drew inspiration from the natural beauty of the pacific northwest, where the rolling green hills were a constant source of wonder and inspiration. Having recently relocated to Utah, I fell in love all over again with the majestic Rocky Mountains. As someone who has always felt a deep connection to nature, I knew that I wanted my business to reflect this love and awe of the beauty that surrounds us.
Our chosen name is very dear to me for a couple of reasons. One day while driving in the truck, "Country Roads" by John Denver came on the radio. This was one of my papas favorite songs and always brings me fond memories of our times together. As I was reminiscing, my three year old little girl was sitting in the back seat playing and I was certain was in her own world. Seemingly out of no where, she looked up at me in the mirror and quoting a line from the song she said, "you're my mountain mama." I felt a rush of emotion, realizing that this name not only represented my love for nature but also the special connection I have with my children. It was at that moment that I knew "Mountain Mama" was the perfect name for my business.
